Education for Sustainable Development

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has adopted the Strategy on a meeting of ministers for education and environment in March 2005. The aim of the strategy is to develop and incorporate education for sustainable development (ESD) into their formal education system in all relevant subjects. Main objectives are policy framework to support ESD, promotion of sustainable development (SD), to equip educators and ensure adequate tools and materials for teaching, promotion and strengthening cooperation on ESD.
